Bloodstone

those who do not understand
would never see your heart
and the beauty, love and honesty
would be criticized in part
and the honor that you hold
would never see the light
surrounded by the darkness
of the hatred in the fight

but the jewel beneath the mad barely can be seen
yet you can see it sparkling
brush away the dust
the mold from years of rain
you will see the beauty
that is hidden by the pain

bloodstone is embedded
in your spirit and youir heart
and i have been a snowflake
melted by your spark
blood is more then water
impure to mix together?
but who are we to say
Does it make us any better?

ancient pain

under the new moon
past wounded knee
past all that was

this ancient pain
memories passed down
from generation to generation
to yours
and to mine

when does this pain fade into the past
when will we be able to face our future
four nations
when we are all one
